Settle of this city passed away about five o'clock this morning, Thursday, after a lingering illness of more than two years. About two years ago the little fellow fell and broke his arm, and a littled later he fell against the corner of the school building. One or both of these injuries caused a trouble to start in his back which developed into tuberculosis of the spine and later diabetes. His suffering has been intense during all of this time and it has been wonderful how he has endured it all. The patience and fortitude with which he bore his suffering won for him _________(not legible) the whole town to take an interest in him. The parents have done all that could be done in an effort to restore his health. He has had the attention of local physicians and in addition to this as been taken to Oklahoma City for the treatment of a specialist several times, but it seemed that nothing could be done for him, and in spite of all human efforts the little life flickered out. Lloyd will be missed by his family and by the people of the town but none would wish to call back the little one to his life of suffering for little one to his life of suffering from which it seemed that Death alone had the power to relieve. Funeral services were conducted at the residence this afternoon by Rev. McCrary of the Baptist Church and the remains were laid to rest in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. The father and mother, three sisters, five brothers and a host of friends will miss little Lloyd. The Star joins the people of the town in extending sympanthy to the family in their sorrow. His passing was unlike his lifew. After suffering so much for so long a time it will be sweet recollection to his loved ones, that he went to sleep and calmly was freed from all pain and ushered into eternal rest.
