Stamper was conducted from the Martin Funeral Chapel Tuesday, April 5, 1983 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Aubrey Cowan and Rev. Wilbur Hapeman officiating. Burial followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma. Mr. Stamper was born March 4, 1907 in Olivehill, Kentucky and died Sunday morning April 3, 1983 in St. Atoney-s Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. He moved to Roger Mills County from Olivehill when he was 18 months old. On December 25, 1936, he was married to Ethel Pitcock at Hammon, and she survives him. They lived in several different place after they were married, but they always considered Roger Mills County their home. Mr. Stamper attended the Primitive Baptist Church. Preceding him in death was his parents, 2 children, 1 sister and 1 brother. Other than his wife, Mr. Stamper is survived by 3 sons, G.A. Stamper of Strong City; Eugene Stamper of Cheyenne; and Bill Stamper of Kingfisher; 1 daughter Loyette Buffum, of Americus, Kansas; 1 brother, Clyde Stamper of Strong City; 5 sisters Thelma Harrison of Pueblo, Colorado, Mary Rogers of Pueblo, Colorado, Evalina Gilbert of Medford, Oregon, Olga Allen of Tacoma, Washington and Georgia White of Hillsbough, Oregon, and also by 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and by several cousins and a host of friends.
