Lawrence Hart and Rev. Max Malone and burial followed in the Mennonite Cemetery, Stanley Lee Funeral Home, Clinton, was in charge. Helen Whiteman Standingwater was born August 10, 1919 to Herbert and Edith Whiteman in Quartermaster, near Hammon, and died in the Baptist Hospital Friday afternoon October 27, 1989. Mrs. Standingwater was raised in Hammon and attended school in Quartermaster and later married Woodrow Wilson Standingwater, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Mennonite Church and the Redmoon Service Club. She was also preceded by 2 brothers, Ray Whiteman and Roy Whiteman, two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. She is survived by four daughters, Leona Stepp, Sharon Byrd, Ruby Standingwater and Margi Pewo, all of Hammon; three sons, Leland Standingwater, Elk City; Nathan Standingwater, Hammon and Denny Standingwater, Sheridian, Wyoming; one sister, Minnie Miles, Hammon, and 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A traditional all-night wake service was held, starting at 7 p.m. Monday night in the Mennonite Church in Hammon, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
