She passed away November 2, 2002 in Leedey Nursing Center, at the age of 94 years 7 months and 4 days. She was married to M.E. "Dick" Strickland at Durham, Oklahoma on January 25, 1925. Annie and Dick farmed in Durham, Oklahoma until his death in 1971 when she moved to Cheyenne to make her home. She had been a homemaker most of her life except for a few years when she worked as a postal clerk in Durham. She was a member of Cheyenne Church of Christ. Annie was preceded in death by her husband; parents, 2 sons, Merle and Billy Strickland; 2 brotherds, Houston and Morris Price; and 2 grandchildren Karen Harp and Gail Strickland. Services will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Cheyenne Church of Christ, officiated by Kendall Abener. Burial will be at Prairie Dell under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Survivors include; 1 son, Ronald "Ron" Strickland and wife Marcia of Pasadena, Texas; 1 daughter, Carolyn Curb of Clovis, New Mexzico; 1 sister, Mary Holt and husband G.H. of Amarillo, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Marlene Shaw and husband Johnny of Carter, Oklahoma; Doris Newman and husband Bert of Carter, Oklahoma; Jerry Strickland and Tom Strickland; Carina Strickland and Sam Strickland of Pasadena, Texas; 1 great granddaughter Annie Shephard and husb and charlie of Butler, Oklahoma; 1 great grandson Taylor Shaw of Durham, Oklahoma; 3 great great-grandc hildren Laura, Issac and Brad Shephard all of Butler, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.
