Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 1985 in the First Methodist Church, Woodward, Oklahoma. Rev Charles Savlers, pastor of the church officiated. Burial was under the direction of Stecher Mortuary in the Fargo cemetery with graveside Military rites by Woodward V.F.W. Post 135. Oliver Sticker was born December 22, 1914 south of Tangier and attended Happy Valley and Tangier Schools. He was baptized and confirmed into the United Church at the age of 12. Oliver Sticker and Violet Blann were married June 15, 1935 at Woodward. They made their home in Woodward County until 1942 when they moved to San Diego, California. In 1959 they returned to Woodward where he operated the Sticker Motor Company until retirement in 1978. He served in the Marine Corp during World War II and was a member of the Woodward V.F.W. Post 1335. His favorite pass time hobby was flying, from 1938 until 1977. Oliver is survived by his wife, Violet Stricker of the home; one daughter, Joyce Haines of Fargo, Oklahoma; three brothers, Sam and Vernon Stricker of Woodward and Leslie Stricker of Fargo; two sisters, Lillie Tripp, El Cajhon, California and Mary Atwell, Lakeside, California; four grandchildren: Tonya, Tammy, Trisha and Taylor Haines of Fargo, Oklahoma.
