Wesley and Flora Hundly Leitner and passed away Monday, July 13, 1987 in Amarillo, Texas after and extended illness. Arleva grew up in the Durham community starting to school in the old Clifford School and graduated from Durham High School. Arleva and Merle Stricklan were married in 1942. Later they operated a grocery store in Durham for several years. In 1945 they moved to Amarillo. After moving to Amarillo, Arleva becam aa self employed beautician. She was a long time member of the Durham Church of Christ and later the Central Church of Christ in Amarillo. She was a Gold Star mother. She was preceded in death by a son, Gail, in 1971, her parents, a brother, J. Wesley Leitner and an infant sister, Linnie Jane. Among the survivors are: her husban of the home; two daughters, Doris Ruth Newman, of Carter, Oklahoma, Karen Ann Harp, Rugby, Texas, one granddaughter, Annie Ruth Newman, Weatherford, Oklahoma; 2 sisters: Viola White, Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Blanche Darran, Sayre, Oklahoma, other friends and relatives. Funeral services were held in Memorial Park Garden, Amarillo, Texas, with Cecil Burch officiating. A short graveside service was conducted in the Prairie Dell Cemetery, Gem City, Texas.
