Steward was born October 26, 1915 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to John B. and Florence Steward. He owned and operated the Stewardvale Registered Holstein Dairy located 3/4 miles east of I-35 on Memorial Blvd for 42 years prior to retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Oklahoma State and National Holstein-Friesian Associations, the Oklahoma Farm Bureau and a charter member of Associated Milk Producers, Inc. He was also a member of the Edmond Masonic Lodge #2578, the India Shrine-Arab Patrol, the Amaranth, Edmond Court #20, and served as Grand Royal Patron of the State of Oklahoma. He also served as past president of the Oklahoma County Fair Board. Honors included being voted Outstanding Oklahoma Dairyman of the year. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Jacqueline B. Steward. He is survived by his three children, Dr. Rodney D. Steward and wife Ruth of Oklahoma City; Jacqueline F. Steward of Edmond, Oklahoma, JJ (Jim) Steward and wife Kathy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ferne Allen of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Ilo Walker and husband Calvin of Jones, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Services were Tuesday, February 27, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Burial was in Gracelawn Cemetery. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
