She was born June 23, 1890, to Adam and Belle Srtrip Hanshaw near Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas. She moved with her family, by covered wagon, at age 5 to Arapaho, Oklahoma, where she attended and later taught school. She joined the Methodist Church at an early age. She was married January 12, 1912, to J. Brent Steward. The family moved to western Oklahoma, Three Corner area, near Leedey in 1926 and moved to Oklahoma City in 1949. She made her home with her daughter in Del City the last 5 years of her life. She is survived by three sons: Joe and wife LaVona of Houston, Texas; Carl and wife Ernestine of Del City, Burt and wife Barbara of Oklahoma City; and three daughters: Juanita Trent and husband Ray of Del City; Nina Fields of Oklahoma City; Ina Sergesketter and husband Joe of Houston, Texas; brother, Roy Ammons of Clinton, Oklahoma and 24 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Lillie Mae was preceded in death by her husband on February 26, 1968, and an infant son Delpha, parents, great granddaughtger, Lori Steward, son-in-law Russell Fields, borhter Addie Hanshaw and sister Pearl Beavers. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. March 23, 1985 at Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Chapel and graveside services 3:00 p.m. Marchy 23, 1985 at Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
