"Dub" Stewart, 78 and a former Cheyenne resident, passed away Monday, February 2, 1998 at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. William David Stewart Jr., was born February 11, 1919 in Erick, Oklahoma to William David and Anna Maud Howard Stewart. He married Mae Ola Moore in 1941 in Erick. "Dub" worked for the Department of Agriculture in Southwest Oklahoma for 32 years as an Engineer before retiring in 1973. He has been a resident of Hollis since 1955 and farmed in the Behtel community near there. He was an original stock holder in the Motley Gin. "Dub" was a Church of Christ Elder and Minister, preaching in several area churches. Since retirement, "Dub" has enjoyed traveling all over the United States and on church mission trips to China and Canada. "Dub" and family lived in Cheyenne several years and was with the first crew of Soil Conservation and Flood Control. "Dub" is survived by his wife, Mae Ola, one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Wayne Stewart and his wife, Elaina, of Goodwell, Oklahoma, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Jane Ann Stewart of Amarillo, Texas, Bill and Wanda Stewart of Lubbock, Texas, one brother-in-law, Edwin Thompson of Amarillo, Texas, three grandchildren, April Hunt and husband, Bill of Perkins, Oklahoma, Chad Stewart and wife, Jerri, of Alva, Oklahoma, Anna Mae Stewart of Goodwell, Oklahoma, and one great grandson, Bodie Dalton Hunt, of Perkins, Oklahoma.
