Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral Home. Lucille was born February 4, 1915 in Pierce to James W. and Ella B. Cleveland Allen and died Thursday July 22, 1999 at the age of 84. She attended Kiowa and Hammon Schools and attended Texas Tech University before she was married to Jack Singleton and they have been longtime residents of Amarillo. She worked for the Amarillo Public School system for some sixteen years and after her retirement cared for graqndchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Irwin Road Baptist Church and taught a four to six year old class at Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lee Roy Allen, Tommy Allen, and Oran Allen; and one sister, Wilma Johnson. Survivors include her husband, Jack Singleton of Amarillo; one son, James Leon Singleton of Amarillo; two daughters, Lajuana Kaye Jetton and Ella Faye Tucker both of Amarillo; one niece; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rachel Gwartney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Juanita Shelton of Elk City, Oklahoma; three brothers, Dooly Allen of Elk City, Raymond Allen of Tahlequah and Elvin Allen of Hammon.
