She was united in marriage in 1901 to D.w. Bird in Wood County, Texas. Mr. Bird preceded her in death in 1956. From Wood County they moved to Wheeler County then to the Reydon community where they resided for a number of years peior to moving to Dumas where Mrs. Bird made her home until shortly before her death. She was preceded in death by her husband and 6 children. She is survived by three sons, C.E. of Plainview, Texas, .M., of Wills Point, Texas and D.W. Jr., of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Five daughters, Mrs. Eddie (Effie) Bessire, Reydon; Mrs. Orville (Clara Belle) Hickey of Bethany; Mrs. Fred (Lorene) Hickey, Bakersfield, Calif.; Mrs Roy (Juretta) Baker, Denver, Colo.; and Mrs. John (Anna Lou) Scrivner, Rye, Colo. and 53 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church at Plainview. Services were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 8, 1969, in the Reydon Community Building with Rev. W.F. Brian of Plainview and Rev. Clarence Raines of Reydon in charge of services. Pall bearers were her grandsons, Don Hickey, Lindell Hickey, W.A. Bird, Charles Bird, Ershel Bird, Danny Bird, Leroy Milner, Tony and Dennis Baker. Interment was in the White Rose cemetery, Redyon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Boxwell-Morrison funeral directors of Dumas, Texas in charge. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
