Carla grew up in Tipton where she attended Tipton High School. She lived in Oklahoma City before mvoing to Elk City in April of 1996 to make her home. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her father, maternal grandparents and paternal grandmother. Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, at the Ural Cemetery, officiated by Doyle Harris. Services will be under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. Survivors include: two daughters, Amanda Brown of Cheyenne, Alisha Phelps of Tulsa; one son Mark Phelps of Elk City; her mother, Judy Smith of Elk City; four sisters, DeeAnn Pratt of Cheyenne, Mina Hayes, Rhonda Kruschke, Sherry Comer all of Elk City; three brothers, Alden R. Smith, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Rusty Smith of Elk City, J.J. Leach of Conway, Arkansas; paternal grandfather, Bert Smith of Guthrie; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
