Tom graduated from Carter High School. He was drafted in 1944 into the U.S. Army. He served until he was honorably discharged as Colonel at the end of World War II. Upon being discharged he married Wanda Guthrie on August 23, 1958. Tom worked for Wrigly Gum in Oklahoma City for 15 years. He later moved to Roll and Cheyenne communities where he owned and operated a grocery store and gas station for 17 years. He was a member of Classen Baptist Church for 15 years and later of Strong City Baptist Church for 16 years. Tom passed away on October 29, 1988 in Watonga, Oklahoma at the age of 65. He is survived by his father, Floyd B. of Sayre; wife, Wanda of the home; 1 son, Burt of the home; 1 daughtger, Cynthia Lawson, Grandview, Missouri; 1 sister, Joy Wilson, Oklahoma City. Services were held Monday, October 31, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne withb Rev. Milton Gage, and Rev. Ken Shiplet officiating. Interment followed in the Poarch Cemetery under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
