Jeannie had lived most of her life in Oklahoma. She was Mrs. Oklahoma in 1993 and then moved to Arizona where she was crowned Mrs. Arizona in 1996. She was active in Toastmasters, Pinnacle Peak Lion's Club, and the Cowboys for kids charity. Professionally she was the Volunteer Coordinator for Vista Hospic of Scottsdale. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband, Gene, of the home; 1 son, Chris Schmitz of Phoenix, Arizona; 3 daughters, Julie Martin of Phoenix, Arizona, Raquel Pletcher and husband Brian, of Virginia, and Megan Carnahan, of Phoenix, arizona; her mother, Lucille Nabors of Elk City, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Janice and husband, Jim Blanken, Elk Cy, Oklahoma; 2 brothers, Ronald Nabors, of Carter, Oklahoma, and Gary Nabors and wife, Cheryl, of Iberia, Missouri; and 2 grandchildren,Cameron and Conner, of Virginia. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 1999 at the Whinery-Savage Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Avery officiating. Interment was in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
