Obit for Georgia L. Skeends

Georgia L. Skeends was born on July 3, 1876, in Wayne County, West Virginia, and 
departed this life April 20, 1956, at her home in Elk City.

At the age of 17 she was united in marriage to Daniel A. Malson, and to this union 
was born ten children.  They moved from Paoli, Kansasa to western Oklahoma in 1900, 
and Mrs. Malson moved to Elk City in 1945.  She had been in poor health much of the 
time since then.

She was converted and became a member of the Church of God in 1915, and since then 
has lived a consecrated Christin life.  She was a faithful wife and mother, showing 
love and kindness to every member of her family, as well as to her friends.  She was 
especially kind and tender to her children, and to her neighbor's children.  Her 
patience and endurance under hardship was marvelous.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters.  She leaves to mourn 
three daughters, June Hill and Mildred Ward of Elk City; Josephine Albright, Amarillo, 
Texas; five sons, Floyd Malson, Hammon; James Malson, Elk City; Lowell Malson, Durha, 
Doyle Malson, Amarillo and Willis Malson of Durham.  All her children were at her 
bedside at the time of her passing.

She also leaves 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews 
she had many friends.
