Sanders was born December 27, 1921 in Carter, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jim and Dessie Waldrop. She grew up at Reydon, Oklahoma, and was a poplular member of the 1940 graduating class and attended Southwestern State College at Weatherford, Oklahoma. She married Leon Sanders on July 18, 1941 at Sayre, Oklahoma. To this union five children were born. She taught piano lessons in Dimmitt, Hart and Springlake, Texas for many years. She was a member of the National Music Guild and the Dimmitt Fourth and Bedford Street Church of Christ. She had open heart surgery in June at Lubbock, Texas and passed away November 18, 1991 at St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services were held Wednesday at her church, with Pastor Benny Baker officiating. Burial followed at Springlake Cemetery at Springlake, Texas. She was preceded in death by three children, Sondra, Charles Lee and Nita Kay Sanders; her parents and one brother, Lloyd Waldrop. Survivors include; her husband, two daughters, Ronda poers of Dimmitt, Texas and Sharla Mays of Amarillo, Texas, and five grandchildren; one brother, Guy Waldrop, FFt. 2, Box 203, Minco, Oklahoma 73059.
