Her death was attributed to a heart attack. Born Ida B. Reid in Miller County, Missouri, August 4, 1868, moved with her parents, John B. and Peggy Reid to Denton, Texas where she grew to womanhood and was married to J.W. Summers, December 20, 1890. They came to Elk City, Oklahoma in 1911 where they resided until the year 1918. They moved to Blanchard, Oklahoma where she resided until her husband's death. Then she removed to western Oklahoma in Roger Mills county near Strong City where she spent her remaining years. To this union were born seven children, four daughters and three sons. The daughters are Mrs. L.B. Renshaw, Cedar Edge, Colorado, Mrs. Parillee Harrison, Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. W.E. Vandine, Crawford, Oklahoma and Mrs. Truman Farmer, Strong City. The son is R.L. Summers, Strong City. Two sons preceded her in death two years ago. Also her husband who died September 211, 1924. Other surviving are two sisters, two brothers, sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Sisters are Mrs. Joe Summers, Elk City, Oklahoma and Mrs. Minnie Reeves, Brawley, California. Brothers are R.L. Reid and J.B. Reid, both of Blanchard, Oklahoma. She became a member of the Church of Christ at the age of 18 years to which shes was ever faithful. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon January 25, 1942 at the Church of Christ in Elk City with Rev. C.R. Taylor of Cheyenne and Revj. J.M. Gilpatrick of Sayre, officiating. Interment was made in the Blanchard cemetery.
