"Sid" Siniard of Hobbs was held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 30, 1998 at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Mathis officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Graveside rites were conducted by the American Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Siniard, 73, died Wednesday, October 28, 1998 at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. He was born December 15, 1924 in Quanah, Texas. He married Thelma Jenkins in November 1969. He moved to Hobbs from Oklahoma in 1939. He worked for Continental Carbon for 25 years and New Mexico Junior College for 15 years. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans Administration, Disabled Veterans of America and the American Legion. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Arrowhead Medal and the Victory Medal. He was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of the home; a stepfather, Jay Westbrook of Big Spring, Texas; a stepson, Ronald W. Williams of Parker, Colorad; two stepdaughters, Mary Lou Johnstone of Mesquite, Texas and Doris Adams of Kermit, Texas; two sisters Tim McLean of Leedey, Oklahoma and Gene Armstrong of Hobbs; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His first wife, Clara Siniard; his parents, Marian and Nettie Siniard, and two sisters, Pauline and Wanda preceded him in death. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok 5-Nov-1998
