He moved to the Moorewood Community with his parents when a child and resided there until 1950. He was united in marriage to Vivian Anderson April 16, 1930 and to this union three children were born a son, John L. of oklahoma City, two daughters, Mrs. Roberta Johnson of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Jo Lacey of Dallas, Texas. They resided on a farm west of Moorewood until 16 years ago when they moved to Oklahoma City. He was a life long member of the Moorewood Baptist Church. Survivors other than his wife and three children are four granddsons, Johnny and Brent Sharp and Chuck Johnson of Oklahoma City, Kip Lacey of Dallas, his step-parents, Mr. and Mrds. C.J. Stiles of Oklahoma. Four brothers, Andrew of Haude, Paul of Amarillo, Texas, Tom and Steve both of Hammon, also four sisters, Grace Cordum of Lodi, California, Emme Fenton of Turlock, California, Nora Swafford of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Olivia Stice of Moorewood and a great number of nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were Saturday afternoon at the Moorewood Baptist Church with Rev. Albert Trent of Elk City officiating. Burial was in the Moorewood Cemetery under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
