She passed away June 23, 2004 aat Altus, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 22 days. Ethel moved to western Oklahoma with her parents in a covered wagon. They settled in the Sweetwater community before moving to the Dempsey community where she attended school at Emersxon, Meadow Brook and Rankin. She was married to Martin Scrivner at Liberal, Kansas on April 6, 1946. They lived in Missouri and Texas before moving to Reydon in 1961. Ethel moved to Sayre in May of 2000 to make her home. She was a member of the Reydon Churh of Christ before moving where she was a member of the Sayre Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, Benton and Charles, 2 brothers and 1 great grandson. Services were held Saturday, June 26, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Reydon Church of Christ offucuated by Fred Riley. Burial was held at White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service in Sayre. Survivors include 2 daughters Coell Smith of Altus, Oklahoma and Jo Ann Beeson and husband Charles of Sayre, Oklahomaa; 2 sisters Mary Alice Fillmore of Modesto, California and Gladys Scrivner of Pueblo, Colorado; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
