Services were Monday at 2 p.m. in the Cheyenne First Baptist Church with Loyd Martin and Aubrey Cowan officiating. Burial was at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Mr. Scorggins was born December 26, 1929 at Sayre. He attended Sayre schools where he graduated in 1947. He was a graduate of Southwestern State University in Weatherford. He coached and taught in Clinton, Boise City, Reydon, Lexington, Nebraska, Amarillo, and Borger, Texas before moving to Cheyenne in 1959. He owned and operated the Scroggins and Son Funeral Home, from 1960 to 1976. Jack was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Sayre at the age of 9. Jack was an avid sports fan and loved young people. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother. Survivors are his mother, Anita Scroggins, of Cheyenne; two daughters, Debra Smith of Woodward and Jackie Lee Scroggins of Hinton; three sons, Terrell Scroggins of Crawford, Russ Scroggins of Oklahoma City; and Chris Scroggins of Woodward; one sister, Mrs. Bill (Patricia Ann) Grimes of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren.
