Woodrow was born on July 10, 1912 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Grover Cleveland and Ruthie (Johnson) Smith. He attended and graduated from Cheyenne High School, he had a year of college. Woodrow married Pauline Carl on April 11, 1932 in Sayre, Oklahoma. From 1957-1976, Woodrow worked as a minister at the Church of Christ in Portales, New Mexico. After retiring, he worked part-time ministering at the Eufaula Church of Christ, where he attended church. Woodrow was a rock hounder. Survivors include: his two sons: Monty Smith, of Amarillo, Texas; Jimmy Smith, of Amarillo, Texas; his three daughters: Gailya Davis of Eufaula, Oklahoma; Paulette Smith, of Eufaula, Oklahoma; Linda McCaig, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: his wife: Pauline; his two sons: Michael Smith; Gary Smith; his three sisters; Goldie; Vina, and Pearl; three brothers: Paul, Raymond, Clifford and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday April 5, 2010 at the Kelley Memorial Chapel with James Crowson officiating. Pallbearers are the Church of Christ men. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
