She was one of 6 children and married Lester George Summit on February 23, 1936 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Senior Class at Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She worked at Pop Hicks Restaurant in Clinton, Oklahoma before moving to Oklahoma City where she worked at Cattlemen's Restaurant in Stockyard City. She retired from Shepler's Western Wear. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and stepmother (Nancy Kendall), sons Eddie and Billy Don Summit, 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild, 3 sisters. She is survived by son, Lester Lee Summit of Canyon Country, California; daughters, Colleen Strickland and husband Ray of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Kay O'Dell and husband Lewis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Linda Sue Kindrick of Yukon, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; brothers Jack Kendall and wife Betty of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Elwyn Kendall and wife Betty of Lodi, California and many nephews, nieces, and friends. She was a loving and caring Mother, Grandmother, and friends. She went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2007 and will be missed by family and friends. Services were held at 10 AM, Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the funeral home chapel. Interment was held at 3 PM, Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
