Rev. Darrell Bratten of the Prairie View Baptist church officiated and burial was in the Red Hill cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. The driver of the car, Alcy D. Tippins, was born September 16, 1909, in Hammon and died at 55 years of age. He was married to Eddith Jirldine Hays on August 14, 1933, and they resided in Hammon and Elk City for the past six years. Mrs. Tippens was born May 1, 1913, and was 51 years old at the time of her death. The daughter, Nancy, who also died in the wreck, was born December 18, 1948, in Tuilare, California. Other children surviving Mr. and Mrs. Tippens includce Mrs. Elizabeth E. Cowan, Elk City, Mrs. Odessa Gray, Elk City, Mrs. Jirldine Kerwood, Houston and A.W. Tippens, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The two other occupants of the car, Robert Levi Tippens, Jr. and his sister, Stella Louise Tippens, are survived by their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Levi Tippens, Sayre, two sisters, and two brothers. R.L. Tippens was born in Paris, Texas, June 12, 1941 and Stella Tippens was born in Oak Grove, Texas, March 21, 1949.
