Tippens will be conducted Monday 22, 2006 @ 2:00 P.M. from the Martin Funeral Home Chapel of Elk City with Dr. Darryl Tippens officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery of Hammon, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home. Patsy J. Tippens was born in Moorewood, Oklahoma on August 26, 1927 and went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2006 at her home in Hammon, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Joseph Calvin and Clara Morgan and began school in Moorewood at the age of 5 and graduated from Hammon High school in 1944 after transferring from Leedey. She started work for the 1st National Bank of Hammon the same year. She married Thomas E. (Ed) Tippens, Jr. on January 28, 1945 and celebrated 61 wonderful years this past January. Patsy and Ed moved to Weatherford in 1951 from Colony where she was a homemaker and wife until 1964 when shed started to work for the Southwestern Music Company because her youngest was starting school and the oldest was starting college. She was loved by the music departments across western Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma State University recently awarded her an award for her outstanding help with their music department. She retired in 1979 and moved to the farm with Ed that same year and lived there until her death. Patsy was known as an avid reader, a crossword and music enthusiast and above all a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Patsy is survived by her husband Ed of the home and six children, Terry and his wife Donna of Edmond, Darryl and his wife Anne of Malibu, California, Kathy and her husband Mike Wright of Minco, Tom of Weatherford, Doug and his wife Ranet of El Reno and Joe and his wife Stacey of Vero Beach, Florida. She also has been blessed with 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Aline Cope of Cordell and brother J.C. Morgan of Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clavin and Clara Morgan, sisters Lottie Harris, Nadine King, Imogene Edwards and brothers, Hayden Morgan , Warren Morgan, Kenneth Morgan and granddaughter Heather Tipppens, great granddaughter Emma McDonald and son-in-law Mike McDonald.
