She passed from this life, Sunday, October 27, 1991 at the Elk City hospital at the age of fifty-one years, seven months and twenty-four days. Shirley spent her childhood years in the Camargo, Leedey, and Woodward areas, attending the schools of these areas, graduating in 1958 from the Leedey High School. On August 21, 1958, Shirley Elain Marrion and Duane Touchstone were united in marriage at Cheyenne, Oklahoma. After a short time of residence in Leedey, they moved to Kansas where they lived for a few years before moving back to Leedey in 1969 where they have since made their home. Four children were born to Shirley and Duane Touchstone, Johnny, Barbara, Tony, and one son who died in infancy. In addition to her home duties as a wife, a mother, and homemaker, she was employed in the Leedey School System Lunch Program, serving in vaarious capacities, and also enjoyed serving students at her Snack Shack. Shirley trroughly enjoyed her involvement in this school program and her close association with the students and schyool faulty. She loved the school activities and especially enjoyed the activities in which her children and grandchildren were involved. Shirley became a member of the Baptist Church in 1987, and participated in the work of the church, always volunteering wherever she felt needed. She was a loving, affectionate wife, mother, and grandmother and a loyal and helpful neighbor and friend. Mrs. Touchstone was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruby Marrison, her step mother, Elizabeth Marrison and her infant son and her father and mother-in-law, Evet and Naomi Touchstone. She is survived by her husband, Duane Touchstone, of the home in Leedey, one daughter, Barbara Devlin, and husband, Johnny Devlin, of Leedey; two sons, Johnny Touchstone and wife Karen, of Elk City and Tony Touchstone, a student at North Western State University, Alva, Oklahoma, two grandchildren, Evonne Elaine Devin and Steven Gerald Touchstone, also several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, other loved ones, and many friends. Services were held Tuesday, October 29, 1991 at the Leedey, Oklahoma First Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Dyer, officiating. Arrangements by Shaw Funeral Home, Leedey, Oklahoma.
