Tucker, 71, who died Friday at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Oklahoma City, was held Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Kingfisher. The Rev. Fred King and Dr. Jack Poe officiated. Burial was in Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral service. He was born January 9, 1918, in Grimes, Oklahoma. On February 28, 1940, he married Dorothy Cooper of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. During World War II he served 3 years in England, France, Germany, Holland and Belgium with the 815 th Chemical Division, 9th Air Force. He served 2 terms as County Assessor of Roger Mills County before he joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in 1949, retiring from the Patrol in 1970. As a trooper he worked in Pryor, Perry and Pawnee before coming to Kingfisher in 1953. Since retiring he was bookkeeper for an oil related firm at Hennessey, later he entered real estate. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Retired Troopers Association, American Legion Post #85, Charter Member of Elks Lodge and Oklahoma Realty Association. He will be missed and remembered often by his wife, Dorothy; son, William Tucker of Kingfisher; daughter, Anits; son-in-law, Rick Cook of Oklahoma City; grandsons are Rickey Dale and Ryan Cook of Oklahoma City; brothers, W.F. Tucker of Miami, Oklahoma; C.R. Tucker of Elk City; Doyle Tucker of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Teddy Tucker of Friona, Texas, Windle Tucker of Yukon, Oklahoma; sisters are Addie Driskell of Elk City, Oklahoma, Clara Mae Wood of Amarillo, Texas.
