Silas, the son of Robert Lee and Amelia Ann Taylor married Bessie Hix on July 10, 1926 in Sayre, Oklahoma and they lived in New Mexico before moving to the Berlin Community in 1929. They later moved to Sweetwater before moving to Sayre near the Lone Oak Community. They then moved to Sayre in 1976 to make their home. Silas has been a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 5 brothers, and 1 grandchild. He is survived by his wife Bessie of the home; 2 daughters and sons- in-law, Loudene and Bill West of Canyon, Texas and Jo and Jack Brown of Sayre, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Zella Kingham of Fresno, California; 2 brothers, Ivy Taylor of Tucson, Arizona and Robert Taylor of Lavara, New Mexico; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Monday, November 11, 1991 at 2;00 p.m. in the lone Oak Baptist Church with Albert Warnken officiating. Interment in the Lone Oak Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
