Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 1986, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, Texas with Rev. Danny Courtney, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, Pampa, officiating, assisted by Rev. Bill Hance, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Taylor moved to Sweetwater in 1977 from Quanah, Texas. He was a former resident of Pampa and former police officer with the Borger and Pampa Police Departments. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater; a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He married Lillian Tramel on September 4, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife, Lillian, of the home; 2 sons, Dennis Ray Taylor, Amarillo, Texas; and Clinton Lee Taylor of the home; 3 daughters, Cyndee Parks, Pampa, Texas; Brenda Taylor Simmons, Pampa; and LaDonna Garza, Quanah, Texas; and 9 grandchildren.
