She moved with her parents to Garfield County, Oklahoma when her father participated in a land run, homesteading in the area of Fairmont, Oklahoma, which is southeast of Enid. Minnie's family moved to Day County, Oklahoma about 1902 when her father bought land from a Mr. Roberts, which was located on Quartermaster Creek south and west of Red Star and in the Diamond Front school district where Minnie got her education. One of her teachers was Veva Clark Roberts, who was only a year older and a close friend. Minnie was united in marriage to Elias Bud Taylor on August 20, 1916 at Texmo, Oklahoma in the minister's home with the minister's wife as witness. They lived in the Red Star Community for many years, where they raised 8 children. Minnie moved to Leedey, Oklahoma in 1963, and has been a resident of the Leedey Nursing Center since April 1992. Minnie lost her husband in February, 1955 and three months later lost her home to a tornado. Also preceding her in death were her parents; her step mother, Pearl Hart; sisters, Ada Dean and Inez Lowry; brothers, Leonard Hart and Clifford Clark; daughter, Evelyn Bentley; grandsons, Paul Edward Bentley and Robert Emory Partain; and great granddaughter Brenda Bently Gracia. Minnie is survived by her children, Jewel Alene Partain, na dher husband, Robert; son-in-law, Jay Bentley, husband of Evelyn; Avery Leon Taylor and his wife Delpha; Buel Taylor and his wife Penny; daughter Wanda Hamilton and her husband Henry; son, William Dale Taylor and his wife, Yulonda; daughter, Dorothy Thornton and her husband Bill; and son Buddy Dwain Taylor. She also leaves three sisters, Mildred Patton, Beatrice Putnam and Fern Hall; 27 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; 27 great great grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Minnie always had a large garden, canning many jars of food to feed her family during the winter. She made many items of clothing for her family. Her spare time and most rewarding projects were piecing and quilting quilts with beautiful patterns. She also crocheted many afghans, rugs and potholders. In her lifetime, Minnie has made approximately 250 quilts, making five and six of them after losing her feet. A spool was wired to the wheel of her treadle sewing machine so she could turn it with her right hand while feeding the material to the neddle with her left hand. She was one determined lady. Minnie accepted Christ as her Saviour as a young woman and completed this relationship in baptixm in July, 1982 at the First Christian Church in Milan, New Mexico.
