All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Taylor, Wear Originally posted at: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5YB.2ACE/6355 SMALL BOY DIES FROM 22 BULLET Small Boys Hunting Birds With Rifle Result in Death to Son of Jim Taylor ACCIDENTALLY SHOOTS NEPHEW Boy Shot Sunday Morning Dies in Hospital at Elk City at Eleven Monday Night Last Sunday morning about 11 o'clock Murel Glenn Wear the 11 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Wear who resides about 2 miles southeast of town, and his nephew, the little 8 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Taylor who resides about five miles south of town, went out to hunt some birds, near the Taylor home, with a 22 rifle. Shortly after they left the house the Wear boy attempted to shoot a bird and the Taylor boy walked in front of the gun just in time for the bullet to pass through his neck. The little fellow was rushed to the hospital at Elk City where he was given medical attention, but nothing could be done to save his life. His condition gradually grew more serious until Monday night 11 o'clock when he passed away. The little body was brought back to Berlin where it was laid to rest in the Berlin cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. The bereaved families have the sympathy of the entire community.
