Leonard Gilligham officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral Home. Ruby Helen Fowler Thompson was born October 25, 1908 in Sandstone Community. She attended school at Sandston, Cheyenne and Herring and graduated from Elk City in 1926. She lived in the Sandsone community until her marriage to Joseph Denton Thompson on August 29, 1933 in Sayre. They made their first home in the Sandstone Community where Mr. Thompson was engaged in farming. They lived at Oney from 1934 till 1945. They then moved to Elk City where they lived until 1948. On March 24, 1948 they returned to Roger Mills County where they lived 2 1/2 miles north of Cheyenne. Mrs. Thompson entered the nursing home some 2 years ago in Yukon. She was a member of the Methodisat faith. She enjoyed painting which she began at the age of 2 making her own paints and making her own brushes. Survivors include her husband of the Cheyenne home; one daughter, Kay of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Pam Moore of Oklahoma City, Chris and his wife Kim Moore of Bethany, and Robby Boggess of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Clarence and Foy Fowler of Elk City, and several nieces and nephews.
