Mr. Tomberlin was born January 30, 1917 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He married Violet Dean in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in New Guinea and the Phillipinesl. After the war he worked for Industrial Rubber Company in California. He moved to Portland in 1965 and worked for the U.S. Post Office, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Eastside Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, daughters, Colene Brady of Antioch, California; LaVona of West Linn, sons, Phillip of Portland abd Roin of Fairview, brothers Lowell of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Robert of Bosque Farms, New Mexico, Gerald of Sayre, Oklahoma; Leon of Marble Falls, Texas and Bill of Alva, Oklahoma; sister, Letha Archer of Albuquerque, New Mexico; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Interment was in Wilamette National Cemetery. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
