Arnold Gene Thomas was born June 5, 1925 at Sandstone Community to Marion and Rachel Farmer Thomas and died Wesnesday November 13, 2002 at the age of 77. Gene served his country in the U.S. Army and after his discharge was married to Mary Hocker on October 15, 1948 in Canadian, Texas. Gene worked in several occupations but was mainly an employee of the John Deere Company and has also farmed for some 20 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hacker Thomas of the Elk City home. Four children, Sue Salmon and husband Glen of Ponca City, Oklahoma, William Joe Thomas and wife, Marie of McDonald, Georgia, Marion Thomas of Elk City, Oklahoma and Jackie Garcia and husband, Vince of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one dsister, Jonetta Murphy of Midland, Texas, five grandchildren, and one great granddaughter and a hosat of other relatives and friends.
