Burial was in Red Hill Cemetery, near Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Casket bearers were six nephews, Billy and Lonnie Farmer, Corkey and Elwin Thomas, Billy Joe Thomas, and Dink Thomas. Mr. Thomas' death, Wednesday, May 16, 1951 was due to asphxiation while he was in a ditch working on a gas line seven miles west of Wheeler, Texas. Survivors are his widow, Canadian, Texas; one son, Gene Thomas, Elk City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Jonetta Thomas, home address, Mrs. Hazel Dodson, Sweetwater, Oklahoma; one sister, Mrs. N.D. Dykes, Hammon; five brothers, R.M. Thomas and W.I. Thomas, Hammon, B.H. Thomas, Elk City, Joe Thomas, Tucumcari, N.M., and Harlan Thomas, Herring. Mrs. Harlan Thomas and Mrs. R.M. Thomas attended the funerals along with the five Thomas Brothers, and their sister, Mrs. Dykes, J.B. Austin,a brother-in-law, an d Mrs. Mamie Taylor, a niece, also attended.
