She was cremated and private services were held for family members. Arrangemtns were made by Richard W. Box Funeral Home. Fern was born May 23, 1927 in Mountain View, Oklahoma and has lived in Crane since 1963. She was a school teacer for Crane ISD until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crane, served on Carne Calssroom Teachers Association and was a member of the Crane Garden Club. Fern was married to Donald C. Townsend on January 8, 19050 in Reydon, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 24, 1998. Fern is survived by her mother, Mrs. Helen Barton of Comanche, Texas; five daughters, Susan Loyless of Crane, Texas, Storm Evans of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Claudia Wolfe of Llano, Texas, Ann Blanton of Charleston, South Caolina and Jill Townsend of Kingland, Texas; a son, Graham Don Townsend, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
