He had ________(line unlegible) had served this county as deputy sheriff for the past two years. Clarence had always lived a clean moral and upright life thus having a reputation above reproach. He always had a kind word for every one and every ready to lend a helping hand. Clarence was about 25 years of age and leaves a mother, two sisters, three brothers, and a devoted wife and a host of friends to mourn his loss. A dear oned from us is gone A voice is hushed and still A place is vacant in the home Which never can be filled. We loved him, yes we loved him But angles loved him more. And they have called him To younder Shining Shore. Oh, let us live for Jesus Then we can truly sing, Oh grave where is thy victory, Oh death, where is they sting. Clarence Trammell was born in the Chickasaw Nation of Old Indian Territory in 1897 came to his death in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, February 17, 1923, age 25 years, 6 months and 3 days. During the past two years Clarence was Undersheriff of Roger Mills County and in this time he made friends in all parts of the county. He was a son of the late R.L. Trammell of this county. Clarence had lived in Cheyenne since just a small boy. He grew up in our town and was known and respected by all of our citizens. His death came as a great shock to all and cast a great gloom over our town. Funeral services were conducted at the gravein Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma by Rev. Martin, Sunday afternoon amid the presence of a host of friends. The large crowd from different parts of the county present at the funeral attested the high esteem in which Clarence Trammell was held. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, a mother, two sisters, and three brothers besides other relatives.
