The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Obit for Mrs. Maggie Belle Thurman Services for Mrs. Maggie Belle Thurman of Reydon, who died Thursday January 2, 1958 in an Elk City hospital following a lengthly illness were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the Reydon community building with the Rev. Lynn Heard officiating. Mrs. Thurman came with her family to western Oklahoma in 1906 and homesteaded five miles west. Born June 14, 1872 in Hodgenville, Ky., she has been a member of the Reydon Baptist church since a young girl. She was married in Hodgenville to Benjamin Thurman. Survivors are one son, Nick H. Thurman of Reydon, two sisters, Mrs. Annie Price and Mrs. Lula Demarr of Louisville, Ky., three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her husband, one daughter and two sons preceded her in death. Casket bearers were Eddie Bessire, Windell Barbee, Milford Shaw, Mike Wood, Frosty Estes, Vernal Miller. Interment was in the Union Chapel cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Moore funeral home in charge. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok
