Turner, 84, peacefully joined his Lord on October, 13, 2000 with his family by his side. He was born in Hammon, Oklahoma on May 4, 1916. He is survived by his lifelong companion of 61 years, Maxine Turner of Edmond; thier daughter, Paula and her husband Ron Jones of Edmond and their son Dale Turner and his wife Brenda of Cashion; six grandchildren, Darren and Susan Jones of Yukon, Oklahoma, Brian and Ann Jones of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Lisa and David Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mary and Eric Grey of Cashion, Jennifer Turner of Cashion, Rebecca Turner of Cashion; and six great grandchildren, Marci, Kelsi, Ryan, Jenni, Brixton , and Alyse; three sisters, Inez Gibson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jean and husband Bill Ozerberger of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Cosette and husband Ace Emerson of Meeker, and a large extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Newt and Elzia Turner and infant daughter Donna Jean and sister Hefiwa Thomas of Oklahoma City, brothers, Dale Turner and Wayne Turner. Durward's life will be celebrated October 16, 2000 at the Edmond Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. After the service allo friends and family are welcome to share their memories at the home of Paula jones.
