Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was born June 18, 1912 in Hammon, Oklahoma to Newt and Eliza Caroline Stafford Turner. She graduated from Teachers College in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She taught at 3 different shcools in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. She married John Gray Thomas on October 23, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 brothers, Dale and Wayne Turner; 1 grandson, Grey Luman of Edmond, Oklahoma; and son-in-law, Max Short. She is survived by 3 loving daughters, Beverly Short of Edmond, Oklahoma, Betty and husband, Cliff Cox, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Carolyn and husband, Ted Campbell of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, Ronnie Short and wife Vickie of Yukon, Oklahoma, Renee and husband, Gene Painter of Oklahoma City, Chrystal and husband, Tim of oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Donnie and wife, Kenifra Short of Kansas City, missouri, Brad Cox of Yukon, Oklahoma, Cheryl Cox of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, John Cox of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Kimberly and husband, Paul Sugar of Salem, New Mexico, Jerry Lane Luman, Jr., of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Cory Luman of Hobbs, New Mexico; 18 great grandchildren, also 1 brother, Durwood and wife, Maxine Turner of Edmond, Oklahoma; 3 sisters, Inex Gilson, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ima Jean and husband Bill Ozenberger, of Arkansas, Cosette and husband, Ace Emerson of Meeker, Oklahoma and many other relatives and friends. Her greatest hobbies and past times were fishing and spending time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The love she shared tih others only comes once in a lifetime. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 25, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Oklahomka City, Oklahoma.
