Vincent will be held at the Baptist Church in Cheyenne Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Mr. Vincent died at his home in Chyennne early Wednesday morning at the age of 83 years. He had beeen a resident of Roger Mills County for several years. He was the father of Attorney J. Scott Vincent, C.E. Vincent, Marvin Vincent, and Frank Vincent, all of Cheyenne. His wife of Cheyenne, and four daughters also survive. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 26-Apr-1951 ========= Funeral services for James Edwin Vincent, retired Cheyenne rancher who died April 25th, 1951 in Cheyenne hospital were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Cheyenne Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Cox officiating. He was born November 20, 1867 at Sparta, Tennessee and was married March 10, 1895 at Weatherford, Texas, to Wilda Scott. They came to western Oklahoma in 1911 and settled at Strong City, later moving to Cheyenne. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wilda Vincent of the home address; four daugters, Mrs. E.B. Overstreet, Amarillo, Texas; Mrs. P.M. Bailey of Portales, New Mexico; Mrs. Vernon Kendall of Sayre; Rose Palmer of Amarillo; four sons, J. Scott, Frank, Clarence, and Marvin Vincent, all of Cheyenne; two brothers, Will Vincent of Weatherford, Texas and Fred Vincent of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Jackson of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Maggie Reed of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Jesssie Jordan of Enniss, Texas; 11 graandchildren and five geat grandchilddren. Burial was in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Casketbearers were Bill Kendall, Bill Overstreet, Clarence Lee Vincent, Jackie Gillette, Wally Vincent and John J. Burns.
