Vassar died Tuesday March 29, 1921, at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon, at his home in the west part of town. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church, Wednesday by Rev. C.M. Oursier after which the body was laid to rest in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Mr. Vassar came to Cheyenne about two years ago at which time he was practically an invalid. After a time he partially recovered and began work as manager of a poultry business in our city, but his health soon began to fail again and for more than a year he has been an invalid and bedfast most of the time. For the last few weeks he has been in a dying condition. The nature of his sickness does not seem to have been thoroughly understood but he was a sufferer from some sort of stomach trouble. About eighteen months ago Mr. Vassar united with the Methodist church of this city and died a Christian, ready and unafraid to go. Calvin F. Vassar was born in 1880. He is survived by a wife and little daughter, Fay, (can't read line) and one brother.
