The Tommy Weast Memorial Scholarship by friends of the family following the untimely death of Mr. Weast last week. One of the orginators stated the fund was created to tyhe memory of the coach because of his dedication to the sudents of Comanche Schools and his fondness for all athletic sports. Weast was employed by the school district in 1962 as a science teacher and basketball coach. He continued in that capacity until 1976 to assume duties as principal of the middle school. The former coach retired December 31, 1987. The coach was known and respected for his success on the basketball court and had many winning teams. Throughout his career the boys' basketball program captured many championships and were either ranked among the best teams in the state, or were teams that advanced to the state touraments. Just a brief note to say that Comanche Public Schools and the City of Comanche will forever remember the love and dedication shown to the sutdents of Comanche Schools. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
