Albert Warnkin officiating. Burial will follow in the Sayre- Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home. Mrs. West was born in Beckham County northwest of Sayre March 15, 1918 and died Saturday, October 7, in the Sayre Hospital at the ag of 65 following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of W.M. and Nova C. Murphy who were western Oklahoma pioneers and Sayre business operators. Mrs. West was married to Norvel J. West May 22, 1939, and he survives her. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She was most active in the Sunday School and music department, and was superintendent of the Jr. High department for more than 30 years. She was active in civic organizations and pianist for the Rotary Club for several years. She was Sayre City Clerk for 12 years and en employe of the Beckham County Courthouse from 1959 until illness in 1978. She was County assessor from 1967 until 1978. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
