Interment will follow in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Oklahoma under the direction of the Rose Chapel Funeral Home. Carrie was born March 20, 1907 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Della Mae and John Gilbert Miller and died Satruday January 29, 2000 at the age of 92. She attended New Liberty Schools and married Ben Thomas West on February 12, 1927 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. They lived in the Bulo community before moving to Sayre to make their home. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Lonnie West; four grandsons and one granddaughter. Survivors include five daughters, Berta Hillman of White Deer, Texas, Paula Aston of Sayre, Oklahoma, Donna Firquain of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Sondra Stephens of Amarillo, and Brenda McKibben of Sayre; four sons, Ben West of Sayre, Loren West of Amarillo, George West of Amarillo and Jerry West of Sayre; one sister, Edith Young of Del City; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
