The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Obit for Elizabeth Ann Hogg West Elizabeth Ann Hogg was born to Daivd and Mary Samples Hogg on February 25, 1883 at Campton, Kentucky and departed this life at her home near Leedey May 5, 1965 at the age of 82 years 2 months and 10 days. In 1891 she came with her parents to Greer county, near Eldorado where they stayed two years later moving to the vicinity of Pauls Valley. After residing there for several years, they came to what was then known as Old Day county in 1895. It was at Old Grand, where she spent some of her happiest years. The many friends she made while living there was some of her fondest memories. On January 3, 1909, she was united in marriage to William Claird West. Five children were born to this union. Her husband preceded her in death in 1941,one daughter Pearl in 1943. She is survvived by one daughter Mary, Three sons, Seba, Claudie and Erwin West, all of Leedey, Oklahoma. Two grandsdons, lee of Morton, Texas and Joe of Leedey. Also one great granddaughter Amy Lee West. Mrs. West also had two brothers, five half brothers and sisters. Four preceded her in death, as ollows: T.J. in 1943, Jim in 1948, Chalres in 1953, and Mrs. Mary Duggan in 1965. Those living are Mrs. Emma Kirbie, Leedey, Mr.s Edna McCusker, Los Angeles, California and Carl Hogg of Clovis, New Mexico. Many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She accepted Chirst as her Savior and followed the Lord in Baptism, remaining true to her convictions to the end. It can be truly said, that she was all that could be asked of as a friend just as she possessed the highest qualities as a wife and mother. Kindness and gentleness could be seen in her every contact with those about her. Funeral services were held on Friday May 7, 1965 at Leedey Auditorium aand Rev. Martha Rose of Antock, California in charge assisted by Rev. Jack Winkler of Leedey, Oklahoma. Interment was in Center Chapel cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Shaws Funeral Home of Leedey directing. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
