Weiser, 74, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at his home in Dodge City, Kansas. He was born April 29, 1925 in Albert, Kansas to John A. and edith Quimbey Weiser. He married Cleona Mae Kasselman on October 7, 1946. She preceded him in death on September 30, 1997. A Dodge City resident since 1947, moving from Albert, he was a retired carpenter. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and Howard Gottschall VFW Post No. 1714, Dodge City, Kansas. Survivors include two sons, Steve Weiser, Canon City, Colorado, and David Weiser, Dodge City; four daughters, Sharon Culver, Virginia Beach, Viriginia, Patsy Peterson, Aurora, Illinois, Linda Thomas, Newton, and Connie Bowen, Peabody; three brothers, Sid Weiser, Vista, California, Jimmy Weiser, Lufkin, Texas and John Weiser, Ulysses; six sisters, Betty Donham, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mary Ellen Sumpter, Reydon, Oklahoma, Bonnie Rall, Loomis, Nebraska, Ada Benson and Patty Patton, both of Dodge City, and Polly Habeck, Yukon, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Emery; and two sisters, Georgie Richardson and Carolyn Davis. A vigil service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2000 at Burkhart Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. The funeral Mass was at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2000 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dodge City, with the Rev. Louis Hoang presiding. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemtery, Windhorst, with full military rites by VFW Post No. 1714.
