Lonnie Forrester and Rev. Phil Rhynerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home. Robert Allen Wood was born August 15, 1937 in Oklahoma City to Charles A. and Ruth Guy Wood and died Wednesday at the age of 59. The family lived near the Grimes community. He graduated from the Berlin High School. After high school, he attended Southwestern State College where he earned a degree in Teaching. His first teaching job was in the Broxton School system. Besides his career in teaching here in Oklahoma, he taught in LaMar, Colorado for 12 years. He came to the Burns Flat Schools in 1981 and also taught in Carter until his retirement. The family has made their home in Elk City since 1981. Survivors include his wife, Minnie of the home; his mother, Ruth Wood of Elk City; two sons, Gregory and Jeffory Wood, also of Elk City; one aunt, Kate Bowman of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
