A 1977 Chevrolet pick-up driven by Frankie Leroy White, Jr. of Reydon, crested a hill, while westbound, on the wrong side of the roadway. William Russell Hall, driving at 1976 Chevrolet pick-up was eastbounde and attemped to avoid White's vehicle by swerving into the westbound lane. Frankie Leroy White, Jr., of Reydon, died of multiple internal injuries and was pronounced Dead On Arival at Roger Mills Memorial Hospital. William Russell Hall of Cheyenne, was transported to Roger Mills Memorial Hospita by Cheyenne Ambulance with multiple lacreations and head injury. Charles Hughes of Reydon, a passenger in the White vehicle, was transported to Roger Mills Memorial Hospital by Cheyenne Ambulance and then transferred to Elk City with multiple lacreations and a dislocated left hip. White was pinned in his vehicle until extricated by Roger Mills Rescue Unit untilizing the "Jaws of Life" tool. Accident was investigated by Trooper Jon Thompson #782, Cheyenne Detachment, Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Assisted by Sheriff Bob Trammell, Deputy Sheriff Joe Hay, Deputy Sheriff Charles Whitson and members of the Cheyenne Fire Department. Services for Frankie Leroy (Rod) White, 19, were held Monday, August 4, 1986 at 2:30 p.m. at the Sayre First Baptist Church with the interment in the Pioneer Cemetery, Erick, Beckham County, Oklahoma. Rod was born on February 17, 1967 in Ventura, California, and passed away on August 1, 1986 at the age of 19 years, 5 months and 15 days. Rod moved with his parents, Frankie Leroy White, Sr. and Sandra Lou Baxter, to Sayre, Oklahoma in 1967. They later moved to Reydon in 1981 where Rod attended school at Reydon High School. He is survived by: his parents, Leroy White of Reydon, Sandra White of Carnegie, Oklahoma, 2 half-sisters, Jodi Lynn White of Dallas, Texas, and Lavonda Sue Ray of Vesta, California. Pallbearers were: Neal Handke, David Jackson, Robert Spurlin, Jody Robertson, B.J. Attaway and Lyle Parman. Honorary pallbearers: Butchie White, Donnie Sims, and Greg Barker.
