He was born in 1921 at Dustin, Oklahoma to Lindsey and Margied Key White. He started school at Dustin in eastern Oklahoma. In 1933 the family moved to Strong City, in western Oklahoma where he graduated from high school. Leslie lived during the Second World War and joined the army on September 23, 1942 and served in an artillery unit. During his army career he developed epilepsy, which causzed him to receive an early honorable Medical Discharge in 1943. Eeven though he was a sewing machine mechanic for Langdon Manufacturing Company in Wichita, Kansas he was a part time farmer most of his life while taking care of his parents on the farm. In 1958 they moved to Howard, Kansas and then to Wichita in 1968. He was very ddevoted toi his parents. His parents and a sister, Leota Hill, preced him in death. Survivors include his brothers Bob White of Andover, Kansas, Stephen White of Wichita, Millard White of Springfield, Missouri, and sister Jean Clark of Sedgewick, Kansas, and a host of nephews and nieces.
